چکیده

This paper deals with a multi stage hybrid flow-shop problem (HFSP) that arises in privately Chemotherapy clinic. It aims to optimize the makespan of daily chemotherapy activity. Each patient must respect cyclic nature treatment plans made by his referent on- cologist while taking into account high variability resource requirements (treatment time, nurse pharmacy time). The requires assignment patients oncologists, pharmacists, beds or chairs and nurses over 1-day period. We provided Mixed Integer Program (MIP) model this issue, which can be considered as five-stage scheduling additional resources, dedicated machines, no-wait constraints. Since is known NP-hard, we lower bound expression developed an approximated solving algorithm: tabu search inspired metaheuristic based on constructive heuristic quickly reach satisfying results. Computational experiments show efficiency procedures: mathematical optimal solutions reasonable computational time only for small (up 10 patients). Optimal outpatient appointment scheduling.

In this paper optimal outpatient appointment scheduling is studied. A local search procedure is derived that converges to the optimal schedule with a weighted average of expected waiting times of patients, idle time of the doctor and tardiness (lateness) as objective. No-shows are allowed to happen. For certain combinations of parameters the well-known Bailey-Welch rule is found to be the optim...

An Appointment Order Outpatient Scheduling System That Improves Outpatient Experience

Patient wait time and access to care have long been a recognized problem in modern outpatient healthcare delivery systems. Despite all the efforts to develop appointment rules and policies, the problem of long patient waits persists. Regardless of the reasons, the fact remains that there are few implemented models for effective scheduling that consider patient wait times, physician idle time, o...

Dynamic Template Scheduling to Address Uncertainty in Complex Scheduling Problems: a Case Study on Chemotherapy Outpatient Scheduling

Many scheduling problems contain uncertainty. In this paper, we address the uncertainty that arises from requests for appointments that arrive in real time. Requests must be assigned an appointment time immediately (i.e. before all requests are known) for service in the future. We propose dynamic template scheduling, a technique that combines proactive and online optimization and we apply it to...

Joint Panel Sizing and Appointment Scheduling in Outpatient Care

Patients nationwide experience difficulties in accessing medical appointments in a timely manner due to long backlogs. Meanwhile, patients do not always show up for their scheduled services, with significant no-show rates. Unattended appointments result in under-utilization of a clinic’s valuable resources, and limit the access for other patients who could have filled the missed slots. Medical ...
